Malaysian Youth Scrabble Championship (MYSC)

Please take note that the MYSC will be on 21st to 22nd August 2006. Participants will mostly be from the finalist of the Inter-school scrabble championship which was held on 27th & 28th May. Letters will be faxed to selected schools by middle of the week.

The best top 20 will be shortlisted, of which finally, top 5 best players will be selected to represent Malaysia in the inaugural World Youth Scrabble Championship at University of Wollongong, Australia, from 1st to 3rd December 2006.
However, at this point and time (until we get sponsors), the 5 players have to bear own transportation (airfare) cost. Accommodation and food will be provided for, by the Organisers.

Sponsors are most welcome to chip in to make it possible for our students to experience playing in the international level. Your generosity will make our youths' dream come true.

The Sri KDU Mensa Scrabblers '06 saw more new students in both the Primary and Secondary division. 30 students played in the Secondary division and 9 students played in the Primary division.
In my three years of doing scrabble events, (school or open), this is the first time that I had 'good' lunch. Nice place and good food there. Hope Sri KDU make it an annual event. For those who had been there, I am pretty sure they would definitely join again next year.

Scrabble workshop for beginners

'New' students taking part in the coming Sri KDU Mensa Scrabblers '06( 15th July) are 'recommended' to attend this beginner's workshop on 9th July at 10th Avenue Food Mall, Berjaya Times Square from 2to 4pm. Bring your own scrabble set and get scrabbling. I will bring along some clocks with me.

As for adult scrabblers, do meet this Sunday for the Scrabble league.
